INTRODUCTION |
Pentecost is 50 days after Jesus rose again from the dead, and 10 days after His ascension to the Throne of God in heaven. It marks the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the 120 disciples in the upper room (Acts 2:1-4). It is not just the past but today too. It is the present continuous work of the Holy Spirit. Peter preached in the power of the Holy Spirit after Pentecost and 3,000 were saved (Acts 2:38-39). The gift of the Holy Spirit is a promise to all who are called, including us. God knows we need Him. So to all who are in the Body of Christ, the Holy Spirit is given.
