About us

We are The Hope of Glory Centre (HGC), a church in Ampang, Malaysia established in 1994. We embrace the blessed hope of glory in Christ who loved us, died for us and rose again. We are empowered by His Spirit to build a BETTER TOMORROW by building the Christ life in us. This hope goes beyond this temporal world to the glorious hope of everlasting life in heaven. This life-giving hope fills us with vision and passion to live the abundant life that Jesus promised as we follow Him to be like Him and to fulfil His mission to go and make disciples of all nations.

Our Vision and Mission

God gave us His vision and mission from His Word in Col 1:27-29

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

Our Core Values

  1. We are Christ-centred.

We seek to honour Christ first by valuing His Word and His Spirit above all else.

  1. We are people focused.

We value relationships with people above programmes. We seek to love people by seeking and doing the best for them to build them up in Christ to be fruitful for His glory.

  1. We are one body in Christ.

We value unity and teamwork, recognising that every child of God, every member of His body is significant and has a vital role to play in His church. We believe that every member is gifted by God to serve to build up the body and influence our world.

  1. We are a witnessing church.

We have been empowered by His Spirit to be His witnesses, to bear witness of who Christ is and of the Saving grace of His cross and resurrection. We also bear witness that we are His servants who carry out His good works in our community and in the nations. In so doing we seek to serve and bring people to know Christ and to become His disciples.

  1. We hope in His glorious return.

We believe that just as the Bible has promised the first coming of Jesus to this world in the first century, He will come back again as He has promised in His Word a second time as Judge and King forever.  As such we believe that this world is temporal and we live to lay up treasures in heaven and not on earth.
